How to check the activate date of battery for the first time?

1. Open the Chrome browser.

2. Type [chrome://system] in the address bar.

3. Under VPD, find ActivateDate—this is the initial activation time.

"2023-52" means Week 52 of 2023.

 

How to check more information about battery?(Below method is for pad only)

Requirements: A Type-C to USB dongle and a USB flash drive are required. 
--Download file “batt.sh” and copy to your USB flash drive.  
Now you need to switch to Developer Mode. This step will delete all data. Please back up first!

(If you are unable to switch the device to developer mode, please consult with your department's MIS or the person responsible for the device.)

1. Turn on the system,simultaneously press and hold the Side key [Power] + [Volume Up] + [Volume Down] for 5 seconds to access the recovery menu.


2. Simultaneously press and hold the [Volume Up] + [Volume Down] keys, it will show below screen.


3. Press power key to confirm and wait about 30 seconds, it will automatically proceed to the next step.


4. The system is cleaning the data and will switch to developer mode. Wait about 30 seconds, and then it will automatically proceed to the next step.


5. The system is preparing for developer mode. Wait about 5 minutes to next step. System will automatically restart when finish the progress.


6. After the system restart, don’t select any menu and wait about 30 seconds for the system to boot up.


7. After the system boot up, it will enter the following interface.


8. Plug the USB drive into the Chromebook via the adapter, then press “Ctrl”+ “Alt”+ “→”/”F2” on keyboard to open the developer console. 

9. At developer console page, type “root” and press [Enter] to log in. 


Then, input the following commands one by one: (Please pay attention to the spaces within each command. Press [Enter] after typing each command.) 
mount /dev/sda1 /media/ 
cd /media/ 
./batt.sh 
You will get the battery information such as Manufacture date, battery cycle count and battery health as below shown.
10. After reviewing, you can enter "reboot" and press [Enter] to restart the system.

 
11. After restart, you will get below page again. Please select “Return to secure mode” to get start again.

Note: you will be required to set up your account information again.
