[VGA]ProArt RTX5000 series Type-c Function FAQ?

Q1: Can I connect devices like USB drives or USB Mouse to the graphics card's Type-C port?
A1: No. The ProArt RTX 5000 Series Type-C port only supports video output and does not currently support data output functionality.

Q2: Can the graphics card's Type-C port be used for charging?
A2: Yes. The ProArt RTX5000 Series Type-C port currently provides basic 5V/3A fixed PDO (15W) charging when the computer is powered on.

Q3: Can the Type-C port on a graphics card be connected to a Thunderbolt monitor?
A3: Yes. Thunderbolt monitors also support DisplayPort, but they require a monitor that supports Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) and a Thunderbolt cable.

Q4: Can the Type-C port on a graphics card be connected to a Type-C dongle or converter cable?
A4: Yes. Examples of dongles or converter cables are shown in the table below:

Describe

P/N

MoshiUSB-C to HDMI Adapter - Silver99MO084202
Anker518 USB-C to DisplayPort AdapterA8318
UgreenUSB-C to DisplayPort Adapter15575
LindyUSB-C to DVI Adapter43195

However, since the ProArt RTX5000 Series Type-C port currently only provides video output, some functions of the Dongle may not be available.

Q5: After assembling the graphics card and motherboard, I can't see the boot screen when connected to a monitor using the Type-C port.
A5: First, check whether the monitor is in standby mode or power saving mode. If so, press the power button to wake it up. If the monitor is powered on and still doesn't see the boot screen, turn Auto Detect to off and select the input source as Type-C or Thunderbolt.
If all the above methods have been tried and still don't work, it may be because the PD communication time is longer than the motherboard POST time, resulting in the display not being visible. We recommend switching to a different output method and modifying the Bioses.

Q6: After connecting a monitor using the graphics card's Type-C port, the monitor's USB device doesn't function?
A6: This is because the ProArt-RTX5000 Series' Type-C port only supports video output, not USB data transfer. Please refer to  [LCD Monitor] Troubleshooting - If the USB port you connected your monitor to does not charge or respond, please refer to this FAQ for solutions.

Q7: Is the resolution of the Type-C port on a graphics card lower than other output ports?
A7: The main reason is that Type-C can transmit both video and data simultaneously. This can lead to insufficient bandwidth and lower resolution if the monitor only supports 2+2 channels.
Additional information: What is the maximum resolution and refresh rate for one Type-C port, and what is the maximum resolution and refresh rate for two or four ports?
2 lanes supports 8K*30 & 4K*60, 4 lanes supports 8K*60 & 4K/120

Q8: My ProArt RTX5000 series monitor has no display after connecting to Type-C.
A8: Please check the following:
1. The monitor supports Type-C output.
2. Ensure it is connected to the correct output port.
3. Use a full-featured USB cable or Thunderbolt cable.
4. Check the ASUS official website for new PD firmware updates.
For more information, please refer to [Graphics card] Troubleshooting for no display or abnormality on the monitor | Official Support | ASUS Global
If all the above have been confirmed and there is still no display, please inform the customer service staff of the screen model for further assistance.

Q9: What is the maximum resolution of the ProArt RTX5000 series Type-C?
A9: Under DSC, the resolution can reach 7680*4320/60Hz (8K). Please refer to the graphics card series description on the NVIDA official website.

Q10: Can the ProArt RTX5000 series USB-C be daisy-chained?
A10: Daisy chaining is not currently supported.

Q11: Why is there no sound when the ProArt RTX5000 series Type-C is connected to an Apple monitor?
A11: Apple audio uses USB 2.0 to transmit signals, and the ProArt RTX5000 Series itself does not provide USB 2.0 signals, so there will be no sound. We recommend using external speakers.
